In our first hands-on session, we’ll assess your current living space and talk about areas where you feel overwhelmed or dissatisfied. We’ll go over the specific categories (clothing, books, papers, komono (miscellaneous items), and sentimental items) and help you create a vision for what you'd like to achieve.

Step 3: The KonMari Tidying Process

The KonMari Method works by tidying by category, not by room, and we’ll follow this order to make it easier for you:

  • Clothing: Sorting through your wardrobe, discarding items that no longer “spark joy.”

  • Books: Going through your bookshelves and deciding which books bring value and joy to your life.

  • Papers: Organising papers by category, discarding unnecessary documents, and setting up a streamlined filing system.

  • Komono (Miscellaneous Items): Sorting through categories like kitchenware, electronics, toiletries, etc.

  • Sentimental Items: The most emotional category. Together, we’ll reflect on the sentimental items you’ve kept and carefully decide what to hold onto and what to let go of.

Step 4: Organise & Store

Once we’ve completed the sorting process, it’s time to organise. We’ll carefully fold, store, and arrange your belongings in a way that brings harmony to your space. Whether it's optimising your wardrobe, creating storage systems, or organising bookshelves, I’ll guide you through each step to create a home that’s both functional and joyful.

After tidying, we’ll do a final review to ensure your space reflects your vision. I’ll also provide tips and strategies for maintaining the tidying results long-term. You’ll have everything you need to continue enjoying your new, organised life.
